Despite cancer, he 'has a lot more cooking left'

Cincinnati restaurateur Jean-Robert de Cavel has continued to work at each of his five restaurants and begun brainstorming a sixth.

CINCINNATI -- Jean-Robert de Cavel, the French chef and restaurateur behind Cincinnati’s Le Bar a Boeuf, Frenchie Fresh, Restaurant L, French Crust Cafe and Jean-Robert’s Table, won’t let cancer slow him down. 

Despite being diagnosed with sarcoma near the start of the year, de Cavel has continued to work at each of his five restaurants and begun brainstorming a sixth, according to longtime friend Dennis Spiegel.

"He has a lot more cooking left in him,” Spiegel said Tuesday. “That’s for sure."
